Tom is the Principal of TexStone Partners’ Land & Ranch Division, where he oversees the division’s strategic growth and specializes in land brokerage across the state of Texas. He brings decades of experience in business development, deal execution, and small business operations.

Tom began his career in the late 1970s and founded the Tom Koons Company in 1985, originally as a land brokerage firm. Over time, the business expanded into a diverse set of operating platforms, providing Tom with a broad and pragmatic perspective on land, operations, and long-term value creation.

Outside of his professional work, Tom has spent decades implementing ranch and wildlife management programs on his family’s multi-generational ranch in central Texas. He is a charter member and former president of the Neils Creek Wildlife Management Association and has served on the North Dallas Bank and Trust board since 2016.
